Hangar

The construction of an aeronautic workshop for the maintenance of aircraft (hangar) is part of the agreements that were signed in meetings made up of CEOs, employees in higher positions, and entrepreneurs from both France and Mexico.

Over the last few years, Mexico has made important investments, allowing the aerospace field to become stronger, especially in Queretaro. Ever since companies such as Bombardier, Aerospace Canada, Aeronnova from Spain, SAFRAN France were established among others, UNAQ has offered training programs mainly oriented towards aircraft manufacturing processes such as: structural assembles, elaboration of wire harness, laminating, composite materials, machining, etc.

The experience gained due to this training programs implementation, and with a close day-to-day alliance with aeronautic companies, this allows to envisage the training of aeronautical personnel with the required competences for the process of licenses issuance. This represents a great opportunity for the campus to create jobs and to attract global investment for aerospace and aeronautic technology in Mexico.

On July 23rd 2010, an agreement was signed among UNAQ, SEP authorities (Secretaría de Educación Pública), the Ministry of National Education, SCT (Secretaría de Comunicación y Transporte), General Manager of CONALEP, and EUROCOPTER and SAFRAN GROUP companies.

The hangar is the starting point for teachers and students to perform hands-on work. The incorporation of aircraft, equipment and tools enables high quality practices that resemble a real aeronautical environment, improving the competences, skills and knowledge in order to be more competitive.

Hangar is a 50m2 area comprising:

  • 6 workshops
  • 4 offices
  • 1 meeting room
  • 2 dining rooms
  • 2 classrooms
  • Information Center
