Getting ready for the flight

UNAQ is engaged in collaborative agreements with prestigious national and international institutions.

If you are a student at UNAQ or at any other university which UNAQ has an agreement with, you can look up in this section to know more about the requirements and procedures.

If the university you are looking for is not on this list, you can go to the Strategic Alliances Section, aimed at education institutions to know the process, and generate a collaborative agreement.

Is everything ready?

Living abroad is a great experience that might bring you some challenges for which you must be well-prepared. In this section we will give you some recommendations for your trip.

  • Acceptance letter: it´s necessary to carry out all mobility procedures at UNAQ and at the embassies. Without this letter, you cannot stay abroad.
  • Destination information: be sure to have the information in regards to the address, contact, and arrival date. Make sure you get information about the institution, its academic calendar, web page and all things required for your stay to be the best.
  • Time and weather: do some research about the time and weather of the destination country, so you can carry the appropriate clothing.
  • Hard or digital copies of the following documents: birth certificate, CURP, etc.) It might be very helpful to travel with these documents whether in digital or in paper.
  • Medical Insurance: Students in the national mobility program must have an NSS (Social Security Number). This number is given by your university, but you have to assure that this number meets the requirements of the university you are going to. Otherwise, you should obtain one. Students in the international mobility program must have international medical insurance.
  • Vaccination: Make sure you meet the vaccination requirements of the host country before leaving Mexico. You can find this information on the embassy web site of each country.
  • Migratory documents: be sure to have your valid passport up to date 6 months after your return. If you don´t have it, you can do some research on this link.
You should also have a student visa related to the country you are visiting. Requirements and mobility process duration depend on each country. We recommend that you complete all the process in advance to avoid delivery delays. Remember that if you are travelling and there is a stopover in the USA, it is necessary to have an American Visa.
  • Round trip plane ticket. If you are traveling abroad, make sure you buy a round-trip ticket, as this is required by the airline.
  • Voltage: verify the kind of voltage and adaptors you will need, so you can use your electronic devices without any problem.

Recommendations for foreign students:

Migratory process

Each country defines its own migratory processes. You can find them via SECRETARIA DE RELACIONES EXTERIORES consult the procedures..

Each candidate should apply for a visa in compliance with the costs and procedures established by each country. The type of Visa to be issued depends on the kind of activity to be performed in each country i.e: temporary residence, labor visa, student visa, professional training visa.

The most common requirements for this procedure are:

  • Acceptance letter from the destination entity.
  • Valid passport
  • Payment of visa application
  • Economic solvency, etc.

It is important to submit your visa application well in advance. It is not advisable to buy plane tickets or accommodation if you don’t have it, so you better be careful and verify the time requirements for each process.

Migratory process for foreigners

Regardless their nationality, students from different academic levels, must have a temporary student residence visa, as well as their passport, to stay over 180 days in our country.
