Its growth is a national reference, that from its beginnings with 94 students in January 2009 at the end of April 2016, 1,211 students were reported, which represents a growth of 1,188% that evidences the efforts to meet the demand of students advanced and middle level.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During 2016 different events were held, among which are:<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aerospace Seminar<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the message of Mr. Alfredo Botello Montes, Secretary of Education in the State; as well as Mr. Jorge Guti\u00e9rrez de Velasco Rodr\u00edguez, Rector of UNAQ; Dr. Victor Muci\u00f1o, representative of the University of West Virginia (UWV); Dr. Felipe Rubio, in charge of the Project of the National Center for Aeronautical Technology (CENTA) and Mr. Mario Guerrero Mart\u00ednez, Academic Secretary of UNAQ; The First Aerospace Seminar at the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro was inaugurated with the following lectures:<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li>Lecture: Reconditioning, maintenance, experiences and activities in wind turbines, given by Dr. Raul Mu\u00f1oz Arroyo, ITP Spain.<\/li><li>Lecture \"UAV and Fligth Dynamics Research at WVU: Challenges and Opportunities\" given by Dr. Marcello Napolitado University of West Virginia (UWV).<\/li><li>Lecture \"Space Robotics: Multidisciplinary Research and Innovation\" given by Dr. Marvin Chen, from the University of West Virginia (UWV).<\/li><li>Presentation of the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Double degree program West Virginia University - UNAQ by Mtra. Norma Mu\u00f1oz, Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies at UNAQ and Dr. V\u00edctor Muci\u00f1o, representative of the University of West Virginia (UWV).<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>UNAQ Graduation Ceremony<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chaired by the Secretary of Education in the State of Quer\u00e9taro; the Rector of the UNAQ; the President of the Aerocl\u00faster of Quer\u00e9taro, Claude Gobenceaux; the Director of CONCYTEQ, Ing. \u00c1ngel Ram\u00edrez V\u00e1zquez; the Federal Delegate of the SEP in the State of Quer\u00e9taro, Mr. Jaime Garc\u00eda Alcocer; the Director of Operations TechOps, Ing. Held at the facilities of the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro, in which more than 60 graduates of the educational programs of: Advanced Technician Program (TSU) in Avionics, Manufacture and Maintenance of Aircraft met. As well as Aeronautical Engineering in Manufacturing and a graduate of the Master in Aerospace Engineering; in an event that enhances the culmination of their studies and motivates them to apply their knowledge, skills and values in their field.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_10249\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10249\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10249 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nuestra_Historia_2016-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nuestra_Historia_2016-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nuestra_Historia_2016-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nuestra_Historia_2016-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nuestra_Historia_2016.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10249\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ROCH TEAM students<\/figcaption><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Human Exploration Rover Challenge<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UNAQ students and teachers traveled from April 6 to 10 to Hunstville Alabama, in the United States to participate in the Human Exploration Rover Challenge, organized by NASA.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This engineering competition consists in designing and manufacturing a vehicle (rover) that simulates surface transport in future manned missions to other planets, asteroids and moons, moved only by human action and manned by two team members.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event includes a route through a circuit with obstacles of approximately 1.3 km, which simulates the terrain conditions of an extraterrestrial environment, with craters, rocks, sinuous slopes and other adverse conditions, which must be completed in the shortest time possible.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each year, the competition establishes new technological challenges for the participants and in this edition, it consisted of the design of non-pneumatic wheels (without air), which could be able to move the rover on uneven terrain.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro, conscious of maintaining a close relationship with the industrial sector in general and aerospace in particular, promotes visits to companies and institutions related to the careers given by the UNAQ between the teaching and student community that offer the possibility to expand the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The companies visited and the visit objectives set were the following:<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li>Visit to the Mexican Air Force (FAM) to identify primary control surfaces, hyper-sustaining surfaces, instep configuration, with semi-wing and wing figuration.<\/li><li>Visit to the National Institute of Nuclear Research (ININ) to identify safety measures in the application of industrial radiography.<\/li><li>Visit to TECHOPS M.R.O. with the objective of identifying maintenance work on aircraft structures.<\/li><li>Visit to MEXICANA to identify and recognize major maintenance procedures in an aeronautical workshop in all its areas.<\/li><li>Visit to SNECMA to identify in a practical way a manufacturing process in the machining area.<\/li><li>Visit to CRIO in order to observe the processes of thermal and thermochemical treatments, identify their critical variables and see process control.<\/li><li>Visit MESSIER DOWTY to identify manufacturing processes by CNC and unconventional machining.<\/li><li>Visit SAMES to identify major maintenance work on turbine engines.<\/li><\/ul><figure id=\"attachment_10338\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10338\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10338 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActividadesDeportivas-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActividadesDeportivas-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActividadesDeportivas-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ActividadesDeportivas.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10338\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sport activities<\/figcaption><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Sports events<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regional Encounter of Technological Universities in Dolores Hidalgo.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The four-month period January-April represents for the University strong challenges in sports activity, since the 2016 Regional University Technological qualifiers are carried out. On this occasion they were held in the Municipality of Dolores Hidalgo from February 18 to 20.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro participated in the different disciplines such as: basketball, soccer, soccer 7, women's and men's volleyball.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In volleyball, it was possible to participate in both the women's and men's branches, where growth in this discipline was shown, leaving the women's team in the second regional place.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In soccer 7 the UNAQ obtained the pass to the National Encounter of Technological Universities 2016 that was held in the city of Saltillo, Coahuila.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>National Encounter of Technological Universities in Saltillo, Coahuila<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The competitions began on March 17 in the sports unit of Saltillo library Park. Representing the UNAQ in sports team, the soccer team 7, as well as the chess and athletics competitors.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the chess discipline, UNAQ once again enters the medal category in the team category, obtaining the Second National Place of Technological Universities through Marco Antonio San Pedro Morales, Luis ltzkuautli Mondrag\u00f3n Herrera and David D\u00edaz Gutierrez.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While for the Athletics discipline in the 100 flat meters competition obtained the fourth national. In the competition of 400 flat meters, the first national place was conquered. In 200 meters flat the second place national was obtained, with Erick Martinez Zamarripa.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All athletes showed great concentration and effort and the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro will continue to support them aware of the importance of their comprehensive education.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_10340\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10340\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10340 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReunionRectores-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReunionRectores-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReunionRectores-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReunionRectores.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10340\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Meeting of Rectors at UNAQ<\/figcaption><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Student mobility<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Industrial Reach Bicultural Program (PBAI) is a program of the Quer\u00e9taro Science and Technology Council (CONCYTEQ) that grants scholarship to engineering students from the Public Universities of the State of Quer\u00e9taro to make an academic stay at the University of West Virginia (UWV).<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participation in the program requires an agreement with CONCYTEQ, and among the universities that participate in these calls are: the Autonomous University of Quer\u00e9taro (UAQ), Technological Institute of Quer\u00e9taro (ITQ), Technological University of Quer\u00e9taro (UTEQ ), Technological University of San Juan del R\u00edo (UTSJR), Polytechnic University of Quer\u00e9taro (UPQ), Polytechnic University of Santa Rosa Jauregui (UPSRJ) and the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro (UNAQ).<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The PBAI seeks to train students with the best academic performance and a good English language level to make an academic stay and on their return they make an industrial stay of eight weeks with UWV students in companies and institutions of Quer\u00e9taro.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For this call, the fourth in which UNAQ participates, 10 students obtained the grant, including six students belonging to UNAQ, who will study at the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at UWV during the spring semester (January, May). The winning students of UNAQ were: Arturo R\u00edos P\u00e9rez, Andr\u00e9s Manuel Palomo Alvarado, Jos\u00e9 Rafael Ord\u00e1z Ju\u00e1rez, Eder Adri\u00e1n Ram\u00edrez, Mario Alberto Olivares and H\u00e9ctor Perrusqu\u00eda Ledezma.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DHL Award \u2013 CANACINTRA<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Excellence Award is an exclusive program at UNAQ, where DHL, CANACINTRA and Government of the State reward the best average of the different academic programs of UNAQ.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winner of this year's engineering level award was: Nicol\u00e1s Berlanga Ramseier, while the winner of this year's TSU level award was: Hugo Fabi\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez Salazar. Its main prize is to make a trip to meet the DHL HUB in Leipzeig, Germany for the Engineering winner and the DHL HUB in Cincinnati, United States for the TSU winner. During this visit they learned how the distribution center works and all the logistics work behind it, the warehouses, the airport, the loading and unloading places of the aircraft, as well as the aircraft with which DHL works.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_10342\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10342\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10342 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Simulacros-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Simulacros-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Simulacros-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Simulacros.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10342\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Drills conducted at UNAQ<\/figcaption><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Health Week<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the aim of promoting health practices, through care actions, in order to promote disease prevention and knowledge among the university community, the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro inaugurated Health Week, having the participation of federal and state institutions and those of the municipalities of Col\u00f3n, El Marqu\u00e9s and Quer\u00e9taro, participating with orientations towards women, HIV tests, psychological, nutritional and dental support.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some activities within the framework of the Health Week were: CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) training only with hands, to students, administrative staff and support staff of the University by the Mexican Red Cross paramedics.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Postgraduate degree<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Postgraduate Area continues to strengthen and show stability, once the income set the quality guidelines for new applicants.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the activities carried out during the reporting period, the post-graduate sub-directorate obtained the recognition by the Sub secretariat of Higher Education to the proposals for the conformation of the following academic bodies:<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li>Systems Design and Control.<\/li><li>Innovation in Manufacturing and Aerospace Materials.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the objective of promoting the projects that contribute to improve the quality of the study programs, the postgraduate department was able to participate, with the following projects, in the call for the Program of Support for the Development of Higher Education (PADES) 2016:<\/p><ol style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li>Platform for distance education innovation in higher education.<\/li><li>Strengthening academic capacities for project development.<\/li><li>Support for the development of teaching staff capacities in order to strengthen the relevance of the academic program of Electronics Engineering and Aircraft Control.<\/li><li>Computational Simulation Training Program of the Aeronautical University in Quer\u00e9taro.<\/li><li>Strengthening the linking of the double degree program of the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering.<\/li><\/ol><figure id=\"attachment_10341\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10341\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10341 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Robotica-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Robotica-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Robotica-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/www.unaq.edu.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/Robotica.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10341\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students in the PLM laboratory<\/figcaption><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of 2015, a 95% progress was reported in the elevator installation located within the academic building B, which will benefit the student, teacher, administrative and visitors community of UNAQ, to improve mobility conditions, accessibility in equal footing.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the construction of the Laboratory of Aeronautical Competencies PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), was completed in 2016.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This laboratory will help with the development of skills that will allow students, professors and researchers to exploit their development and skills oriented towards collaborative work and innovation; as well as new challenges and new opportunities for technological development.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PLM laboratories strengthen the links of the educational and industrial sector.
